By entering the Competition (as defined below) You hereby accept the following terms and conditions:

The organiser of the Competition is the Saudi Research and Media Group (the "Promoter") whose address is at Makkah Road, 1158, Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

  1. The Saudi Young Lions Competition 2023 (the “Competition”) is open to young creative marketing professionals.

  2. Entrants must be:

    1. residents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (“KSA”) or have a valid permit to work in the KSA;
    2. employed in the creative marketing industry; and
    3. be 21 or over and below the age of 30 on 23 June 2023.
  3. By submitting an entry you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  4. You must pre-register via the Promoter’s competition microsite at https://srmg.com/young-lions (“Microsite”) to : (i) receive the Competition brief (the “ Brief”); and (ii) enter. Entries received from applicants who have not registered on the Microsite will not be accepted.
  5. The Competition will be for the Design category (“Category”) :
  6. Each entry must be in teams of two individuals. Each team member must meet the criteria set out at (2) above.
  7. You must comply with all restrictions as to size and/or length of entries and instructions as are detailed in the Brief). Non-compliant entries will be disqualified.
  8. The Brief will be available on the Microsite on https://srmg.com/young-lions . All entries must be submitted via the Microsite before the deadline stated in the Brief. Entries received after the deadline will not be considered. There is a limit of one entry only. In the event of multiple entries, only the first entry submitted in the Category will be considered.
  9. All copyright and other intellectual property rights in and to your entry are owned by you.
  10. Your entry must be your own work, must not be copied, must not contain any third-party materials and/or content that you do not have permission to use and must not otherwise be obscene, defamatory, offensive or contrary to Islamic principles or to the morals, principles or culture of the KSA or be in breach of any applicable legislation or regulations. The Promoter may make further enquiries regarding the provenance of your work in the event that you are shortlisted and you must respond to all requests for information. If the Promoter has reason to believe your entry is not your own work then the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, disqualify it from the Competition.
  11. By submitting an entry to the Competition, you grant the Promoter: a) a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide right and licence to use, reproduce, display and publish your Competition entry in all available formats, whether now known or hereafter invented, (including on the Promoter’s website) or hard copy (including in the Promoter’s publications), for purposes connected with the Competition and to adapt the Competition entry to enable such use, reproduction, display and/or publication (including to shorten or edit it for such purposes), and you hereby irrevocably waive, for the benefit of the Promoter all moral rights in the entry to which you are entitled; and b) the right to use your name, photograph and town or city of residence for the sole purpose of identifying you as the author of your entry and/or as a finalist or winner of the Competition.
  12. The Promoter is under no obligation to use, reproduce, display or publish your Competition entry, winning or otherwise.
  13. By entering the Competition, you confirm and agree that you are available (should your team be selected as the winners) to take part in the Young Lions Competition at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, which takes place between 19 and 23 June 2023 (the “Festival”) . You must have a valid passport.
  14. A panel of judges selected by the Promoter from across the creative marketing industries will review the entries between 16-26 April 2023. The selection of the panel of judges is at the Promoter’s sole discretion.
  15. The criteria by which each entry will be judged are set out in the Brief.
  16. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding their decision.
  17. The first prize is the opportunity to represent the KSA in the Young Lions Competition at the Festival.
  18. The Promoter will provide each winner with a complimentary Young Lions Delegate Pass to the Festival, which includes: a Full week Festival Delegate pass, return flight tickets from the KSA to Cannes, hotel accommodation and a daily per diam allowance per individual.
  19. The Promoter will provide each winner with return flights from the KSA to Cannes leaving on 18 June 2023 and returning 24 June 2024 (times and dates subject to availability). The Promoter will provide to each winner with full details.
  20. The Promoter will provide each of the winners with accommodation from 18 to 24 June 2023 in Cannes for the duration of the festival. The Promoter will provide each winner with full details.
  21. Each Winner will be notified by email to the address specified in their entry by or before 27 April 2023. Due to the time critical nature of the prize, if any winner does not (i) respond and (ii) confirm acceptance of the prize within 5 working days of being notified, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and the Promoter shall be entitled to select another winner (and any other winner will have to respond to the email from the Promoter within 5 working days or else they will also forfeit their prize). If any winner rejects their prize, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited, and the Promoter shall be entitled to select another winner.
  22. The Promoter will publish details of the winners on https://srmg.com/young-lions with links to view the winning entry.
  23. The Promoter will provide each winner with a briefing session on what to expect at the Festival.
  24. The Promoter retains the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event that the original prize offered is not available.
  25. By submitting your entry to the Competition you represent that you have read, understood and agree to all Competition rules and regulations.
  26. The Promoter takes no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt.
  27. Each winner may be required for promotional activity on behalf of the Promoter and shall participate in such activity on the Promoters’ reasonable request. Each winner consents to the use by the Promoter and their related companies, both before and after the closing date of the Competition for an unlimited time, of their voice, image, photograph and name for publicity purposes (in any medium, including still photographs and films, and on the internet, including any websites and social media accounts hosted by the Promoter and their related companies) and in advertising, marketing or promotional material without additional compensation or prior notice.
  28. By submitting your entry to the Competition you represent that the content you submit: a) is not and does not contain any material that is obscene, threatening, harassing, libelous, deceptive, fraudulent, invasive of another’s privacy, offensive, defamatory of any person or otherwise unlawful; b) does not infringe any patent, trade mark copyright, or other intellectual property right or breach any confidentiality obligation or contain anything which is proprietary and which you do not have permission to use for the purposes of the Competition; c) is not obscene, defamatory, offensive or contrary to Islamic principles or to the morals, principles or culture of the KSA; and d) will not contain software viruses or any other computer code, files, or programs designed to interrupt, destroy, or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment.
  29. Should you be selected as a winner, you agree that the Promoter can share your name, contact details, date of birth and any other personal data that Cannes Lions reasonably requests with Cannes Lions for the following purposes: a) to issue passes for the Festival; b) to promote the Young Lions Competition before, during and once the Festival has finished on the Cannes Lions Website at https://srmg.com/young-lions ; and c) otherwise as reasonably required to promote, operate and administer the Festival.
  30. The Promoter may provide your details (including an entrant’s personal data) to third parties and/or otherwise engage third party providers in connection with this Competition where the third party is acting on the Promoter’s behalf for the purposes of administering this Competition and/or any subsequent publicity, and/or as otherwise required by law.
  31. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you entering or participating in the Competition or accepting the prize. The Promoter further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from: a) participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Competition; b) any failure to receive entries due to transmission failures or other conditions beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control; c) any late, lost, misrouted, garbled or distorted or damaged transmissions or entries; d), any postponement, delay or changes that may impact on the Competition caused by events beyond the Promoter’s control; or e) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Competition. You agree that in no event shall Promoter be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss or damage.
  32. The Promoter reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition with or without prior notice. The decision of the Promoter in all matters under its control is final and binding.
  33. These terms and conditions will be governed by KSA law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Riyadh.

Both parties represent and warrant that they have carefully read, reviewed and understood this agreement, and their obligations hereunder.
